The T-Mobile Pulse “ the UK’s first Android-based smartphone available on pay
as you go “ goes on sale in T-Mobile stores across the UK today.
The device “ exclusive to T-Mobile “ is set to bring Android handsets to a wider set of mobile users. Priced at £179.99, the Pulse offers a great value way to keep in touch with friends and family and access the Internet on a mobile phone. It comes pre-installed with some of the most popular services from Google. Plus there’s an ever-expanding range of applications available to download from the Android Marketplaceā„¢.

Navigating the web or browsing through apps is easy thanks to the track ball and the full 3.5¯ colour touchscreen, which cleverly auto-rotates from portrait to landscape depending on the position of the handset.
Manufactured in partnership with Huawei and powered by a Qualcomm chipset, the T-Mobile Pulse is the third Android from T-Mobile. It’s a sleek addition to the range, with a curvy black polished chrome exterior. But it not only looks good, it also boasts great multimedia functionality including a 3.2 mega pixel, auto-focus camera for great quality photos which can be uploaded straight to Picasa, plus a 2GB micro SD card for storing images and other media.

Nicola Shenton, Acting Head of Handset and Device Marketing at T-Mobile UK said: We’ve had a huge amount of interest in the T-Mobile Pulse since its unveiling a month ago. The high spec and pay as you go price point makes it a really compelling offer. And as it’s the only Android phone that can be bought without a monthly contract , we think it will be the must-have mobile Christmas gift this year.¯

The T-Mobile Pulse costs £179.99 on pay as you go, and £30 per month on a 24-month contract (1000 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet). Internet on your phone is available for pay as you go users for just £5 a month or £1 per day with a T-Mobile Internet Booster. Some of the exciting applications available on the Android Marketplaceā„¢ to download to the T-Mobile Pulse include:

Layar “ perfect for house-hunters

Layar is an invaluable tool for house-hunters. When looking around a new area, simply hold up your T-Mobile Pulse at street level, and the application will display information about houses in the vicinity on the phone’s screen. The application uses information from a variety of different sources to show which houses within view are for sale, along with relevant information and even a phone number for the estate agent.

nru “ ideal for the spontaneous

Wherever you are, the nru mobile application (near you¯) will work out your exact location and which way you’re facing. It will then show you the nearest places to go, from bars and restaurants to cinemas and cafes. As you turn to face different directions, the view will change so you always know which way to go. nru gets its
content from Qype, the local search and recommendation website, and fonefood, the mobile restaurant booking service from lastminute.com.
