T- Mobile UK 2009 Full Year Financial Results

Good customer growth in Q4. Record December. Strong turnaround in second half.

   

Year on Year:

§         Customer growth “ up 2.3% Y0Y to 17.2 million

§       Net additions 393,000. Contract customers 4.1 million, up 0.4%. Prepay customers 13.1 million, up 3%

§         Revenues £3.0 billion (2008: £3.2 bn) reflecting in part the regulatory impact of lower termination rates

§       Data revenues up 40.5%

§         EBITDA £544 million (2008: £708m) reflecting in part regulatory and foreign exchange impacts

Fourth quarter

§         570,000 net customer additions. Best ever December

§         Marked reduction in both contract and prepay churn

§         Continued reduction in operating costs, down 13%

§         Impact of ˜Smart Invest’ programmes seen in sharp reduction of customer acquisition and retention costs

Operational Highlights

§         EBITDA margin improved from 15.4% in first half of year to 20.7% in the second half

§         Impact of ˜Smart Invest’ programme seen in sharp reduction of customer acquisition and retention costs

§         Pre-pay and pay monthly portfolio refresh

§         3G network expansion on track to create UK’s most extensive 3G network

§         MVNO deals with Vectone and Viacloud
